Before Cold Laser Therapy I couldn’t sleep at night. I would hurt most of the time. I had to take medications daily for knee pain.

After cold laser therapy it’s helped stop the pain. I walk better, and sleep really good. I really wish you could see me now you can tell joy-joy.

I am so happy it’s changed my life. Please go you won’t stop thanking yourself. I feel so much better. God is good. I can’t stop thanking him for reading about (this therapy) in the Dallas Morning News.

Cold Laser Therapy: How Does it Work?

Cold Laser or another name for it is low level laser therapy is a form of phototherapy or light therapy. The cold laser device produces a beam of light, which is applied over the injured area to stimulate healing. There is no pain with the treatment. Once the light or the photons (which are particles of electromagnetic energy) penetrate the injured tissue the energy of the light is absorbed in the mitochondria of the cell, which are small structures within each individual cell. The electromagnetic energy from the laser is converted to chemical energy within each cell. The cell membrane changes which in turn create various four important lasting physiological changes.

  • Acute and Chronic Pain relief

Most knee pain sufferers have pain standing, walking, going up/down stairs, and sleeping at night. Cold laser helps with pain relief by increasing endorphin (the hormone that helps reduce pain) release.

  • Reduces swelling/inflammation

Many people who suffer with knee pain have some swelling or inflammation. Cold lasers help decrease the inflammation by releasing histamine, nitric-oxide, and serotonin to create a vasodilation (opening) of the cells. This in turn stimulates the lymphatic system (or the system in charge of getting rid of waste). In other words it opens up the cells so they can get rid of the waste in the tissues.

  • Stimulates tissue healing

  • Increases tissue strength

The laser has been effective in helping people relieve acute and chronic knee pain by enhancing tissue healing. When an individual suffers with knee pain it’s typically because the tissue in and around the knee joint is damaged. There’s a growth factor response within the cells and tissues as a result of increased ATP and protein synthesis improved and increased cell proliferation.

All four of these physiologic effects create greater effects….

  • Develops collagen and muscle tissue

  • Helps generate new, healthy cells and tissue

  • Stimulates nerve function

  • Stimulates the immune system
